Hi there,
I want to either change or delete the two top tab links (Home and About) but cannot figure out if I can or how I can do it.

Because of the way my site is set up, I'd like to hard code the "home" tab to include a trailing "/slash". WordPress wants to remove the slash for some reason, causing me problems.

Also, any way to hard code the text link (blog name) at the very top of the page?

Thanks very much, great template.
Regards,

Hello. I've seen a few posts here about excerpts, but nothing that quite fits what I'm looking for. What I'd like the option of doing is on the front page, having just an excerpt instead of the whole post. The excerpt length should ideally be defined by me. What I'd also like is for the excerpt to finish with something like "Read more..." where clicking on it makes the rest of the post appear/expand on the front page (ideal) or at least takes the user to the post's individual page.

As it stands right now with just putting in a custom excerpt and making the appropriate change from 'the_content' to 'the_excerpt' on the index.php, there is no "Read more..." option. This gives the visible impression that the excerpt itself could be the complete post. It's not obvious to the reader that they must click on the post title to read the entire post.

Thanks for the assistance.

With a recent upgrade to PP 1.4.1, the "HOME" tab at the top of my page is missing. I've been looking through the support forum here trying to figure out why and cannot find this mythical "main-menu.php" file that is referred to over and over as being the location of those top menu settings. Did this update eliminate that file? I have to assume that the functions of that file still exist, but I am having no luck finding where they may now be or how to fix the top menu so that my "HOME" tab comes back. Most of my customizations came back with my saved custom.css file, but of course, like others have mentioned, all of my widgets disappeared and the site defaulted back to the default widgets, top banner photos, etc. All of that is restored, sort of - now I just need to figure out how to get that "HOME" tab back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

My site is at http://www.allenbyparents.com. I can't access my dashboard anymore and my theme seems to be gone. My content is still there, though.

I updated the Primepress theme a few weeks ago. After the update, I had to recustomize my settings. No problem. But my Wordpress files are in a subdirectory called blog1 and my domain would no longer point to that directory. So I did this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory, which I had done the first time I installed this theme. This time, though, I was not able to change the text in the "Site Address URL" box. It would not let me. It gave me warning about changing this.

After I logged out, I was no longer able to access my dashboard. When I go to http://www.allenbyparents.com/blog1/wp-admin I get a 410 file not found error.

Also, if I go to http://www.allenbyparents.com If I go to http://www.allenbyparents.com/blog1 I get the latest content but not the PrimePress theme. All my pages are text only with no formatting.

I've tried troubleshooting with my host with no success. My database seems to be fine. I tried repairing and optimizing it through phpmyadmin. They suggested I try some WordPress forums.

I've tried removing my edited index.php file from my main directory. When I do this, I see my old home page from a few weeks ago I with the PrimePress theme working only for the home page. It's not the latest content, though. When I reuploaded the index.php file to the main directory with the last line changed to say "require('./blog1/wp-blog-header.php');" I got the page you see now when you go to my site -- just unformated text, no PrimePress.

I've tried disabling my plugins but that did nothing. I'm wondering if there's a way I can change my theme via ftp just to be able to access my dashboard and see what's going on. My other alternative is to deactivate WordPress and reactivate it, but I don't want to lose my content. I've never reinstalled from a backup before.

Any suggestions?

Previously I was using a manually installed PrimePress instance, with tweaked style.css, to force two different WPMU/WP3.x blogs to use different banners and such.

Having recently moved a TwentyTen-using blog on the same install to a child theme, I thought I'd try the same with my two Primepress-using sites, instead of manually maintaining a 2nd instance of PP.

Except it doesn't seem to work.

The child theme loads OK, but it's ignoring the /headers directory in it's directory and it's custom.css file, in favour of using the headers and custom.css in the parent file.

Is there a way to tweak a PP child theme to use the correct /header and custom.css?

Thanks!

Hi all. I've installed a couple plug-ins to my site: http://hawaiihousingnews.com . However, when I drag the widgets onto any of the three sidebars (one, two, wide), they just don't appear at all on the website. It's as if they just don't exist.

Has anyone else encountered and solved this problem? It would be nice to use these other plug-ins.

I updated to WP 2.8.6 and I'm using Prime Press 1.3.1 for a long time.

In the widget area I normally have a column where I can manage all the widgets that are in the sidebars. Since I updated WP I miss this column. I just have the overview of available widgets that I could add if I wanted. But the whole sidebar thing is gone. I can't edit or even see the widgets that are already installed.

When I visit my blog I see the sidebars, but there is no possibility to edit them anymore.

Is this a WP issue, Prime Press ore both?

Thank you very much for your support!

I want to add some other social media icons in there, such as a Twitter icon. I've done this, but I can't get them to line up right. Even when I tell it to align left, it's still way right of the RSS and subscribe via email code that comes with the theme.

I've gotten it to line up correctly and link correctly by mimicing the code of the RSS and email, but then it won't properly find the picture.

It seems that there's just somehow I have to tell it to look for the image differently, I just can't figure it out!

Below is the code I used.

[code]<div id="pp-subscribe" class="clearfix<?php if ($pp_feed_id) echo ' pp-email-true'; ?>">
