I'm developing my site and perfecting it before I upload it to my provider. It looks good in IE but the links don't work in Firefox. Does anyone here have advice on how to stack the header, blog component and sidebars with z-index, to make the links clickable?

Because I keep seeing instructions and "worked for me!"s, etc., which are SO not working for me, I'm wondering if it's that everyone else is using a PrimePress admin panel while I'm using the WordPress admin panel. Is that a possibility?

In my admin panel, the only place primepress is mentioned is in the lefthand sidebar, the last option under "Appearance" [the first three options are "themes," widgets," and "editor" (where I only get a "The requested theme does not exist." message)], and under "themes," shown as the chosen theme, with a link to other themes if users want to change.

On the main page of the admin panel, all logos and "brand names" are for wordpress. The only thing I get from a "dropdown" under "Appearance" on "edit page" is "parent" and "order." Nothing about comments or templates. Is my problem that I am using a different admin panel than a "normal" primepress user?

It seems quite bizarre that, for a blog, with THREE places already checked to allow comments, there would still be more one had to do before the ability to leave comments was activated. Is there nothing I can add to one of the template pages to circumvent the hold-up in the admin panel?!? Am afraid to just start playing with the code. That's worked for some things, but other tweaks completely destroyed the sites and I've had to re-set them up a time or two.

Thanks for any and all insight, direction, whatever!

I'm trying to edit the header.php file (to add the favicon code) and keep getting a "Bad Request" error. I have no trouble editing the other .php files associated with the template.

I have been using PrimePress for sometime but recently discovered that some script is being added that loads up a bunch of spam links in the header. In troubleshooting, it seems that there must be something in the rotating header script that is loading this junk code. Do you know anything about this?

I will have to replace the theme if I cannot find the source of this auto-loading malicious script.

Ravi, thanks for the great theme; love PrimePress.

However, I'm having trouble linking the RSS subscription button with the Feedburner account I just set up. I'm working with PrimePress 1.3.1. I noticed there is a new version of the theme that seems to address RSS issues like mine, but I have customizations on 1.3.1 that I don't want to lose, so I'm hesitant to upgrade.

I've tried some of the "bandaid" code solutions I found on the support forum and blog comments, but I still can't seem to get the subscriptions to show up on Feedburner. Could you give me some help? I know I need to change something in the subscribe.php file, but I just can't figure out what.

I have my Feedburner ID already (or I know how to get it). I don't need feed-by-email. I just want to be able to track my RSS subscriptions on Feedburner.

Thanks.

Can anyone suggest a nice plugin for this? I don't understand where I need to load my actual files. Do I put them on my server? In my media library? hosting site? Most of the plugins look like they want me to put a URL in my post but I definitely don't understand that part. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.
Also the meta generator tag is appearing twice for me on 2.9 and 1.3.2 which is not good for SEO either. It is happening on the theme home page also.

I have only 1 more suggestion from my experience, please add an option to customise the path for the rotating banner images so I can do an automatic upgrade.

Thanks.

I cannot seem to find the way to change the page order on the menu. I like it to appear alphabetically by title, but everytime I edit in main-menu.php it takes everything out and leaves only home. Short of manually entering them there, the page order space throws everything to the end. Is there any way to edit the page id # as it seems the configuration is ordered by page id#

Ravi -- this is an incredible theme, and its customizable features allow it to be used on many sites without LOOKING the same! Well done you!

Is PrimePress compatible with WordPress 2.9? What is the process to ensure no disruption when upgrading?

It's long overdue for me to upgrade to the latest Wordpress version. I kept putting it off and missed 2.8 entirely. My concern is in losing the custom changes I made on my website. I don't remember exactly what they were since it was well over a year ago. Most changes are covered in the custom.css file but I know there were a few changes to some of the other files.

I have an idea what steps I should take but I'm hoping someone would have a comprehensive list of steps to make it as smooth as possible.

Hi,

New to this template. Like it so far...

My title seems to be stuck in ALL CAPS. I've tried

body.custom .homelink {
text-transform:none;
}

But no luck.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Hi Ravi,

Thanks for providing your great theme for Wordpress. I have worked on some customization and it's working very fine!

One question however, then I create a link on a page or in a blog post the font size is smaller then the font size of the normal text. (see homepage at www.channelexcel.com)
I can not find the place where to fix this, can you please help me out? The link should show in the same font size as the normal text.

Many thanks
Bart

Hi Ravi:
I have replaced the rotating banners with a single 960 px wide banner. I would like a suggestion for removing the space above the banner and to bring the banner up to within 10 to 20 pixels of the top of the screen. I have hidden the description in the custom css. What can I do now to bring the banner up and on top of the description.

While you're at it, I also have the same problem in the footer. I put a 960 px wide image in the footer, but now I have white space under it on one page and the purple background color I added underneath it on some pages, up to an inch in depth.

Thanks for a great theme.

Mark
